Beaverdale Fall Festival Parade 2008

Bryce and I attended the Beaverdale parade this year along with some other YUM families. It was a gorgeous day, the company was great and we took home WAY TOO MUCH candy!!

Side note: My favorite entry in the parade had to be the actual company called, Beaver Mower!

One serious picture of Bryce and one where he was making a "funny" face!

Singing

Bryce likes to sing along with the radio when we are driving in the car, or anywhere for that matter. He really likes the Kid Rock remake of Sweet Home Alabama. The funny part is that when he sings along he misunderstands the words and just sticks in what he thinks. We were just watching TV and Bryce saw a commercial for transformers. The transformers theme song goes, "Transformer, more than meets the eye", his interpretation is "Transformers, more to beats my hind" or something like that! It can be something different every time!

God and McDonalds

So, Bryce has been asking a lot of questions about God and Jesus. A couple of weeks ago, Bryce asked Chuy what God does, and Chuy told him that God makes things. "How does God make things?" "Well, he says something and then it is made."

A couple of days later, Bryce and I were driving to Story City and we discussed stopping at McDonalds in Story City to get a bite to eat. He was sitting in the back seat and he held up a golf tee. "So, God said golf tee and this tee was made?" I thought briefly about how much I really wanted to explain and decided I would take the easy way out, "Yup", I said. He sat there for about 10 more minutes and then he asks, "So, God said McDonalds, McDonalds, McDonalds, McDonalds, and all the McDonalds were made?"

After I stopped laughing, I went back to the golf tee and explained that God made the tree, people made the golf tee. You never know what will come out next...

Sunday School

Sunday, September 14th, Bryce went to Sunday School for the first time. He has been asking a lot of questions about God and Jesus so I thought it would be a good idea for him to learn more, and not just my version. He clung to me and didn't want me to leave him in the classroom but I handed him off to the teacher. When I went back after mass, I had to drag him out of the classroom and he said he wanted to do that every Sunday. We'll see, I am hoping he continues to like it!

Fishing in Illinois

This is from our latest trip to Illinois. Uncle Bubba took Bryce fishing and they both had a great time!

Getting started

I was thinking that a blog would be a good way to keep family and friends posted on what is going on with Bryce (mostly) and myself. We'll see how this works...!
